Well, maybe Dr. Ward could do a good job at that post. He has done a good job in the journalism school. If he gets promoted maybe they wpuld move Professor Walker to head of that department. Just a suggestion from an alumnist.

Dr. Kamau would be an OUTATANDING Provost for Texas Southern University; he has been an administrator/director of the Robert J. Terry Library for more than six years. He has stayed the course in spite of the library being held hostage by the antics of Bobby Wilson and Associate Provost Richard Petre.

For the past 6 years they have plundered library resources and appropriated funds for their own gain and pet projects to the detriment of our students. Dr. Kamau almost single handedly has been able to do a yeoman’s job keeping the TSU Library on track with other Universities across the nation, it has not been easy.

Wilson and Petre should be ASHAMED of what they have done to our poor but deserving staff, faculty and students who only want a FIRST CLASS education.

President Boddie do you,the administration and entire University family a favor by appointing someone with the integrity of Dr. Kamau to a Top Administrative staff such as Provost. His commitment, passion, community and campus wide appeal would serve all of us very!

I would also wish to offer my strong support for Dr. Kamau to be seriously considered as the next Provost of Texas Southern University. Not only is Dr. Kamau a strong and effective administrator but also he is a prolific poet, author, academician and radio personality. He is well thought of by many faculty, staff and of course students. Dr. Kamau is not only extremely intelligence and modest but reaches out to all that seek his council and unbiased interventions in resolving difficult situations.

For the last 6 years Dr. Bobby Wilson and Associate Provost Pitre have sought to marginalize and muzzle him in addition to plundering valuable and limited library resources from his supervision. All of this in order to break his determination to be the very best administrator possible and to promote the Robert Terry Library as a resource facility second to none.

Drs. Wilson and Pitre should be ashamed to look any faculty, staff or student straight in the eye. While garnering lavish salaries and living large on the backs of university finances, our most valuable product, our students have suffered immensely. Nepotism has been the order of the day. Rather than hiring qualified candidates including dedicated TSU graduates; top administrators have hired nieces, nephews, cousins, daughters, ex-convicts, husbands and the like at salaries off the charts most poor universities.

Drs. Wilson and Pitre have hijacked the library and resources for their own gains or that of their relatives and friends. Dr. Wilson had his nephew hired as the chief TI officer taking the computer lab away from the direction of the library. Most of the time the computers are not functioning properly, the lab is generally trashed, dirty and unorganized. In most cases the lab is closed when students need it opened the most (Now has an example). They are forced to go off campus to the University of Houston, the public library or to simply make do without.

Valuable library resources and space on the first floor was hijacked by the Associate Provost (Pitre) along with needed funds that were allotted for the Urban Learning Center. This was done to make room for a crony to receive a salary. The library should be the HEART and Soul of any institution of higher learning. All publications, research materials, electronic data/media, computers and staff should be readily available to support the entire university.

Dr. Kamau, if selected as Provost would have a better understanding of the needs of the university and could move swiftly to remedy many of the problems now facing TSU. He is compassionate, sensible and knowledgeable and would be a great asset to the administration, university and community at large.

President Boddie, we at TSU surely need as soon as practical strong, dedicated, intelligent, energetic, honest and hard working men and women to serve our GREAT institution.

I vote for Dr. Kamu he would make a great Provost for the university. I don't think that he would do anything to hurt the university just to bring family and friends on board and pay them all outragous salaries riding on the backs of the staff, sutdents or faculty. I beleive that he would make a great provost.

The provost at TSU continues to hire and promote for cash and favors. He gets around faculty committees by buying off the chairs. This is why TSU continues to hire such weak candidades, because they have financial ties to the provost or to his favorites. This is why the most incompetent are retained as chairs and promoted beyond any objective criteria and against the votes of faculty committees.
Of course, there are no anonymous votes by the faculty. There are payoffs and reprisals.
If the board has not been able to see and stop this corruption, then they are a part of it.

Definitely NOT Bobby Wilson. He runs the university for his own account, without regard to fairness or quality. His department chairs are like the women he likes, mean and dumb, but subservient. And he allows them to run the departments for their own benefit, certainly not for the benefit of the students! The worse the heads, or shall we say, the hats, treat the students and the rest of the faculty, the better he likes it. And they get to be heads for life, without any type of review from anyone. How else would they be allowed to gut programs in spite of student complaints and demands?

Llayron Clarkson, professor emeritus,
should be consulted about the positions of provost and president.
He was a provost worthy of our respect, not like the one we have now, who is there to line his pockets and exact favors. We need some integrity in the office.

Many individuals should be removed from TSU. Can anyone explain why the acting police chief has a Dodge Magnum for his police car. I saw him the other day blasting some unknown rap groups music from the vehicle.I stopped one of the supervisors and he stated that was Chief Seals group that he produced. What are we running here,is he P. Diddy or the Chief of Police. Who signed off on the Magnum car? What other Police drive these cars? TSU Police are GHETTO FAB!!!

President Boddie:

You are moving much too slow in effecting positive change at our GREAT University, legislators both state and national, students, staff, faculty and the community at large on waiting for your LEADERSHIP! How long must we wait? Have you sought out a focus group of students so that they can voice their concerns in the past and present with suggestions for moving forward? Have you sought out a focus group of professors so that they can voice their past and present concern with suggestions for moving forward? Have you done the same for staff, the community at large and the Texas political delegation?

To do this is show concern and your desire to be inclusive in your approach to bringing TSU out of the DITCH not WEAKNESS! In the end you will make the ultimate decisions along with that DAMN INEFFECTIVE BOARD OF REGENTS. Don’t let them stop you from doing the “RIGHT THING”. Let your legacy be a GREAT ONE for our TSU!

Texas Agriculture & Mechanical University was given Prarie View. Perhaps it is time for Texas Southern University to become part of the University of Texas System. That would be a grand move for TSU, being part of the THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS. UT is a land grant university with alot of money from oil. And money is definitely what TSU needs now.
